Vernal Skatepark (widely known by locals as the Ashley Valley Skatepark) is a free public, outdoor recreational facility located at 1175 W 250 N, Vernal, UT 84078. Tucked behind the baseball fields on the western edge of the sprawling Ashley Valley Community Park complex, this unstaffed municipal installation serves as the traditional, long-standing core for skateboarding in Uintah County. The park operates daily from dawn to dusk, features overhead sports lighting for extended evening sessions, and welcomes all non-motorized action sports wheels. Vernal Skatepark was built by American Ramp Company. Designed as a compact, progression-focused street plaza, the park features a smooth concrete slab populated by a mix of classic transition and technical street obstacles. The layout is anchored by multi-height quarter-pipes, ranging from approachable 2-foot and 3-foot progression walls up to a larger 7.5-foot drop-in wall, all featuring excellent, consistent transitions. The central course is packed with street lines, boasting two distinct funbox pyramids (one fitted with a center down-rail), an extra-slick 8-foot-long manual pad, and multiple standalone flat grind rails. Situated inside the area's largest multi-use park complex, visitors enjoy seamless access to expansive playgrounds, covered picnic pavilions, walking trails along the creek, public restrooms, and massive paved parking lots.
