About Newaygo Skatepark
Newaygo Skatepark, locally referenced as the Barton Street Skate Park, is a free public, outdoor action sports park located at 164 E Barton St, Newaygo, MI 49337, at the corner of Barton Street and Ewing Street. As a neighborhood practice spot for skateboarding in Newaygo County, the park gives local youth, inline skaters, and scooter riders a dedicated space to work on trick progression. The park operates from morning until dusk and remains open from mid-spring through the fall seasons. The skatepark sits on an 80 ft x 120 ft concrete foundation pad and features a substantial setup of commercial-grade prefab ramp structures. These transition and street features are built with smooth, impact-resistant Skatelite riding panels over solid frameworks. Designed for linear, back-and-forth momentum lines, the course is anchored along the far boundaries by wide multi-tier quarter-pipes and steep launch banks for maintaining speed. The central plaza includes a large funbox pyramid assembly with a square metal down-rail, a tiered hubba ledge, a multi-step stair set, and a standalone manual pad. Located next to the municipal winter sports park and seasonal ice rink, visiting riders also have access to basic paved public parking and grassy perimeter fields.
