Decatur Skatepark, officially known as Southside Skate Park, is a free public, outdoor skatepark located at 200 W Beers St, Decatur, MI 49045. Situated on the corner of S. Williams St and W. Beers St within Southside Park, it serves as a small neighborhood skate spot on the south side of the village in Van Buren County. The park is fully fenced and operates as an unsupervised municipal recreation facility, with posted rules and hours at the entrance. The setup is an old-school modular street course built across a broad, flat paved pad rather than a poured-in-place concrete skatepark. Obstacles are spread out with plenty of open runway between them and include quarter pipes along the perimeter, a bank-to-bank funbox with a raised center section, a wedge-style bank, a low flat ledge, and a flat rail. The simple arrangement makes the park approachable for beginners while leaving enough room to link the individual features together, and the relatively low obstacles are best suited to basic street tricks, transition practice, and learning fundamentals rather than larger or more technical lines. The skate area sits alongside a basketball court and is surrounded by mature trees and residential streets, giving it the feel of a quiet neighborhood park rather than a destination-scale facility. Benches and grassy areas sit immediately outside the fence, while Southside Park also provides picnic space and additional room to hang out between sessions.
