About Chandler Skatepark
Chandler Skatepark is a 15,000 square foot concrete skatepark located within Detroit’s Chandler Park at 12831 Frankfort Street. Opened in June 2022 with backing from the Tony Hawk Foundation’s Skatepark Project and local crowdfunding through Patronicity, the park features a medium-sized flow bowl with a cradle and a triangular street plaza packed with ledges, banks, stairs, rails, and funboxes. It’s designed to accommodate skaters of all skill levels, from beginners learning the basics to experienced riders looking to progress. Managed by the Chandler Park Conservancy, the skatepark is part of a 200-acre public space that includes walking paths, athletic fields, a golf course, and a large aquatic center. Beyond its terrain, Chandler is also a hub for community programs, including free youth skate lessons and gear giveaways held on summer Mondays and Wednesdays. The park is open daily from approximately 7:30 AM to 9:30 PM, with seasonal variations. With its smooth features, solid layout, and connection to Detroit’s wider recreational scene, Chandler Skatepark offers a vibrant spot to skate, learn, and connect.
