About Velodrome Skatepark
The Velodrome Skatepark, located at 7122 Perkins Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is a 30,000-square-foot concrete skatepark situated within the Perkins Road Community Park. Designed by SITE Design Group and constructed by California Skateparks, this expansive facility accommodates skateboarders, BMX riders, inline skaters, and scooter users of all skill levels. The park features two bowls with pool coping and tiles, a spacious street section with stairs, handrails, ledges, and banks, as well as unique elements like a volcano, London gap, quarterpipes, kickers, manual pads, and a hubba. Open from daylight to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, the park is free to use, with helmets and pads recommended but not required. In addition to the skatepark, the surrounding Perkins Road Community Park offers a wide array of amenities including a 333-meter velodrome cycling track, BMX raceway, rock climbing wall, fishing pond, playgrounds, and walking trails, making it a well-rounded destination for outdoor recreation in Baton Rouge.
