About Sunset Skatepark
Sunset Skatepark is a free public, outdoor prefabricated skatepark located at 5200 Miller Rd, Lake in the Hills, IL 60156 at the corner of Miller and Haligus Roads. Managed by the Village of Lake in the Hills, this unstaffed community facility is a prominent neighborhood hub for skateboarding in Lake in the Hills. The park is open daily from 9:00 a.m. until dusk and exclusively welcomes skateboards, BMX bicycles, and inline skates (scooters are legally prohibited). The facility features a modern above-ground modular layout anchored to a smooth, flat concrete pad. Completely updated with fresh equipment during a municipal replacement project, the park offers two distinct directional runs tailored to different progression levels. The obstruction blueprint includes multi-height quarter pipes, bank ramps, boxes, a central pyramid funbox, manual pads, and a flat rail. Located inside the expansive Sunset Park Sports Complex, riders have immediate access to dedicated parking lots, open green spaces, and public park shelters.
