About Downey Park Skate Park
Downey Park Skate Park is a free, outdoor skatepark inside 54-acre Downey Park off North Dean Road in east Orlando, just south of East Colonial Drive near Union Park. It's an Orange County facility, unsupervised and open during regular park hours, and sits along the Dean Road side of the park with parking close by. The park mixes street and flow. Several quarter pipes set up back-and-forth transition lines, while manny pads, ledges, and a kicker cover the technical street side; a bowl adds a spot to carve and work on lips and transitions. It's a compact setup rather than a destination-sized plaza, which makes it a favorite for beginners finding their feet - though there's enough here for experienced skaters to run mellow lines and warm up. Skateboards, BMX, scooters, and inline skates all ride here, and lighting extends sessions into the evening. Weekday crowds are light, so it's an easy place to get laps in. Downey Park itself is a full family park: an inclusive playground, splash playground, eight lighted pickleball courts, baseball and softball complex, sand volleyball, an off-leash dog park, fishing, fitness areas, and picnic pavilions, with restrooms on site. County hours apply - 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily in summer, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in winter.
