About Candyland Skatepark

Candyland Skatepark is the free, outdoor skate area inside Candyland Sports Complex, a 17.5-acre City of Longwood park at 599 Longdale Ave in Longwood, Florida. The park itself dates to the early 1970s - whimsically named as a companion to the city's former Peppermint Park - and the skate section has grown from a handful of modular ramps into one of Central Florida's more distinctive community-driven spots. That growth has been a genuine local effort. A GoFundMe run through Longwood shop Mr. Bikes n Boards funded custom additions poured by ramp-building legend Nate Wessel and crew, including the park's signature metal "candy corn" full pipe and a pair of uneven grind ledges, while a $100k FRDAP grant paid to asphalt the BMX/skate pump track. In March 2026 the park reopened after several weeks of fresh concrete work and pump track upgrades completed by Mr. Bikes n Boards, volunteers, and the city. The terrain suits street, transition, and surf-style riders alike: quarter pipes, ledges, a hubba, and manny pads on the street side, pump track laps for flow, and the full pipe for the brave. Skateboarders, BMX riders, scooter riders, and inline skaters all session here. The surrounding complex adds restrooms, a playground, pavilions, ball fields, courts, and roughly 165 parking spaces, with Arbor Dog Park next door. Gates open shortly after 7 AM and lights go out at 9:50 PM daily.
