About Sapwi Bike Park
Sapwi Bike Park is a free, public bicycle skills park tucked inside the 145-acre Sapwi Trails Community Park in Thousand Oaks, California. The larger park stretches between Erbes Road and Westlake Boulevard along Avenida de los Arboles, with parking lots off all three roads; the Arboles Terrace lot at 2550 Avenida de los Arboles is a convenient entry point for the bike park. The park is a true grassroots project. The Concerned Off-Road Bicyclists Association (CORBA), a 501(c)(3) chapter of the International Mountain Bicycling Association, partnered with the Conejo Recreation & Park District to build and maintain the facility. It opened in 2018 with a dirt pump track, added beginner-through-advanced jump lines in 2019, and completed an expert jump line with large wooden ramps in August 2020. Today the bike park features a pump track with easier and harder loop options, plus four progressive riding zones: a beginner area with mellow berms, small rollers, and tabletop jumps; an intermediate line with wood ramps and berms; an advanced line with five wood-ramp jumps; and an expert line with seven wooden ramps standing four to six feet tall, along with wall rides. Admission is free and the park is unsupervised, open sunrise to sunset. It closes for weekly Sunday volunteer maintenance sessions and after rainfall of more than a quarter inch, so check the park's website or Instagram before visiting. This is a bike-specific dirt facility rather than a skatepark. Surrounding Sapwi Trails Community Park offers miles of multi-use trails, a disc golf course, cross-country running routes, and a non-motorized glider flying area, making it easy to turn a session into a full day outdoors.
