About Pleasanton BMX Park
Pleasanton BMX Park - known to locals as the Pleasanton Dirt Jumps or simply PDJ - is a free public, outdoor dirt bike park at 3320 Stanley Blvd in Pleasanton, California, near Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area on the road toward Livermore. The city-run facility covers 3.65 acres of sculpted dirt mounds, berms, jumps, and pump-track-style lines. The park is laid out in clearly signed sections for beginner, intermediate, and expert riders. There is an easy, fairly flat area where toddlers, kids, and newcomers can learn to roll and pump, while the more advanced zones feature progressively larger dirt jumps and technical lines that have made PDJ a well-known Bay Area dirt jump destination for both BMX and mountain bikers. This is a pedal-only bike park: electric bikes are prohibited for safety reasons, and riders are asked to follow all posted safety signage. Unlike paved pump tracks, the dirt surface here is built for bikes rather than skateboards or scooters. The park is unsupervised and free to ride, open dawn to dusk, weather permitting. Because the terrain is dirt, the city closes the park intermittently during the winter months after rain, keeping it shut until the track dries out and conditions are safe again.
