About Crescent City Pump Track
The Crescent City Pump Track is a free public asphalt pump track in Beachfront Park, near the corner of Front Street and D Street in Crescent City, California, just blocks from the harbor in Del Norte County. Designed and built by Velosolutions - the Swiss firm behind many of the world's premier pump tracks - in partnership with the City and the Del Norte Trail Alliance, it opened with a ribbon-cutting celebration on October 12, 2024. The track was the first project completed under the Beachfront Park master plan, funded through a $5 million Statewide Park Program (Proposition 68) grant awarded in 2021. Ground broke on July 31, 2024, and the finished course covers roughly 18,000 square feet with 621 linear feet of rolling asphalt, and has been called one of the top bike pump tracks on the West Coast. Billed as an all-wheels, all-ages facility, the track welcomes anything non-motorized on wheels - bikes, scooters, and skateboards - with lines that accommodate young children through expert riders. Momentum, not pedaling, carries riders around the banked turns and rollers, and a jump line plus a wooden wall-ride feature add options for advanced riders. The track is free, unsupervised, and open dawn to dusk. Helmets and knee and elbow pads are required, and kids 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Beachfront Park surrounds the track with parking, restrooms, the Kidtown playground, picnic areas, and coastal walking paths, and the separate Crescent City Skatepark is nearby, making the area an easy all-day stop for traveling skaters and riders.
