About Wigmore Park (Luton)
Wigmore Park Skatepark is a free, outdoor concrete park in Wigmore Valley Park in Luton, Bedfordshire. It's run by Luton Rising, the council-owned company that manages the park. The park opened to the public on 15 April 2026, built by Maverick Skateparks using reinforced spray concrete. It replaced the site's old rusted metal ramps after years of campaigning by local skaters. Billed as one of the largest concrete multi-discipline venues in the UK, it pairs a street plaza with a flowing snake run. The snake run carries rollovers and clamshell corners, while the plaza holds banks, ledges, hips, and a mini ramp. The organic sprayed-concrete shapes suit skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter riders across all abilities. Its scale and design are aimed at everyone from first timers to future competitors. It sits in a large park of more than 70 acres with open countryside views. An aviation-themed playground, a cafรฉ kiosk, picnic tables, toilets, and parking are all close by.
