About The Loading Bay

The Loading Bay is a paid indoor skatepark and café on Borron Street, a short walk north of Glasgow city centre. It's billed as Glasgow's first indoor skatepark and fills a 30,000-square-foot warehouse. Its design is genuinely unusual, incorporating the original building's loading-bay features with their rough surfaces and odd shapes, then hybridising them with smooth, forgiving plywood ramps. The result is an authentic street plaza feel, with large windows washing the space in natural light. The main bowl runs from a 5-foot shallow end to a 7-foot deep end with a 9.5-foot extension, and a small mini-ramp alongside gives beginners space to learn transition. Two street areas keep much of the park open for temporary, movable obstacles that can be reconfigured to keep things fresh. A 5-stair with skateable bleachers doubles as seating for film screenings and hides obstacle storage underneath, while a separate parkour and trampoline room with a foam-pit landing offers a reduced-risk space to learn new tricks. The bowl was revamped in late 2024. It caters to skateboarders, BMX riders, scooter riders, rollerbladers, quad skaters, and parkour athletes of all ages, with in-house coaching, holiday camps, and events like the Scottish Street and Mini-ramp Championships. On-site there's a café, a skate shop, and helmet hire, with under-16s needing a helmet and a waiver.
