About Solitude Park
Solitude Park Skatepark is a free, outdoor concrete park in Solitude Park, a Green Flag park on the banks of the River Bann in Banbridge, County Down. It's run by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council. The purpose-built park opened in 2018 after years in the pipeline and consultation with local riders. At the time it was one of only three outdoor skateparks of its kind in Northern Ireland. Set over two levels, the concrete design features raised banks and kerbs, metal rails, and a sunken pocket. A pocket corner and a curved bank sit at opposite ends for flow. That street-focused layout suits grinds, slides, and technical lines across a range of abilities. It welcomes skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter riders, and sits in its own enclosure beside the park's amphitheatre. The wider park offers a children's playground, an outdoor gym, and public artwork including a striking metal flower sculpture. Toilets, parking, and cafรฉs are all close by in the town centre.
