About Saltaire Skatepark
Saltaire Skatepark is a free, outdoor concrete park on the edge of Roberts Park in Saltaire, near Shipley in West Yorkshire. It's run by the City of Bradford Council and sits within the Saltaire UNESCO World Heritage Site. The medium-sized park is an all-concrete layout arranged in a loop of street and transition features. It's set on the banks of the River Aire, reached by a footbridge from Saltaire village and the train station. One side opens with a large half pipe with a curved edge and an extension. Two paths lead off it, one with a roll-over up to a volcano and a quarter, the other with a euro gap, a rail, and a flat bank. The ends are linked by a stair set, bank, and rail, which keeps lines flowing around the whole loop. That mix suits skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter riders across a range of abilities. It sits beside the historic Salts Mill and Roberts Park, a Green Flag park opened in 1871. Nearby are a playground, a cricket ground, the Half Moon Cafรฉ, a bandstand, and the alpaca statues.
