About Ramp 1

Ramp 1 is a paid indoor skatepark in a huge warehouse on the outskirts of Warrington, Cheshire, billed as one of Europe's biggest indoor skateparks. It covers around 50,000 square feet across multiple sections, all built from wood by Four One Four Skateparks and opened in 2014. Its build was epic: after 10 months of planning, it used 2,780 sheets of ply, 160,000 screws, and over 27 kilometres of timber across a 13-week construction. Everything is wooden-surfaced, giving a smooth and quick ride. The layout runs from a 165-foot Las Vegas-themed street plaza, packed with stair sets, rails, kickers, funboxes, hubbas, a jersey barrier, and manual pads for long flowing lines. Alongside it is a BMX rhythm section of huge boxes, step-ups, spines, and roll-overs, including one over a 40-foot ridable tunnel. It also has two mini ramps, a low-level spine, a beginners' section, and an under-10s area, plus a huge bowl varying from 5 to 7 feet that's among the biggest in the UK. Next to the bowl sits an airbag section, like a foam pit with a roll-in, for practising harder tricks safely. It caters to skateboarders, BMX riders, scooter riders, and inline skaters of all abilities. On-site there's the 150-seat Grind Café serving Tchibo coffee and food, an elevated viewing gallery, a skate shop, equipment hire, private party rooms, free Wi-Fi, and even a 700-square-foot inflatable park for family days out.
