About Peartree Park
Peartree Park Skatepark is a free, outdoor concrete park in Peartree Park in the Shephall area of Stevenage, Hertfordshire. It's run by Stevenage Borough Council. The concrete park was designed and built by Canvas Spaces, with input from local skaters and a wheeled sports business. It officially opened at a special event in August 2025, replacing an older metal skatepark that had been removed after vandalism. The new design leans toward beginners and younger riders looking to build confidence. It features a mini pump track alongside banks, a grind ledge, and a manual pad. That gentle, flowing layout makes it a friendly space to learn the basics on a skateboard, BMX, or scooter. Its smooth concrete rewards steady progression more than big, technical tricks. It sits within a park that also has play areas for different ages, a multi-use games area, sports pitches, and a pavilion. New seating was added alongside the skatepark, with parking at the main entrance off The Ridings.
