About Mount Hawke

Mount Hawke is a paid, mostly indoor skatepark near Mount Hawke village and St Agnes in Cornwall, run as a small charity. At 24,000 square feet, it's the South West's largest indoor skatepark and one of the longest-running indoor parks in the UK. It was formed in 1986 to serve young people in rural Cornish communities, tracing its roots to skaters who transformed an abandoned swimming pool into a makeshift spot. It started as an outdoor facility before being developed indoors in 1996. The purpose-built warehouse holds mostly wooden ramps split into sections, including advanced and beginner street areas, the historical "black pool," a pool-style bowl added in 2017, a BMX rhythm section, a 13.5-foot vert ramp with tall roll-ins, two mini ramps, and a spine. Much of the current street set-up was built by leading skatepark firms, and an outdoor concrete plaza was added by Maverick in 2020, along with a large pump track and a trials area, making it a true all-weather facility. It caters to skateboarders, BMX riders, scooter riders, and mountain bikers on the pump track. Sessions run in age bands with themed nights, coaching, private hire, and parties, and booking is required in advance with no walk-ins. On-site there's a café, a shop, a climbing wall, and even a barbers.
