About Marple Memorial Park
Marple Skatepark is a free, outdoor concrete park in Marple Memorial Park, a well-loved park in Marple, Stockport, Greater Manchester. It's run by Stockport Council with support from the Friends of Marple Memorial Park. The concrete park was designed and built by Canvas Spaces, opening in April 2017. A second phase in 2020 expanded the plaza and added an adjoining multi-use games court. The layout runs from an open bowl at one end into a street plaza. The plaza holds banks, ledges, hubbas, and rails, several finished with Canvas's signature tiled pattern. That mix of transition and street gives skaters, BMX riders, and scooter riders plenty of options across all abilities. Smooth surfaces make it a rewarding local spot for flowing lines. The park around it is packed with amenities, including play areas, a multi-use games court, and a bowling green. Toilets and a lit car park sit close by, along with war memorials and a sensory garden.
