About Hornscroft Skatepark
Hornscroft Skatepark is a free, outdoor concrete park at Hornscroft Park in Bolsover, Derbyshire. It's run by Old Bolsover Town Council and sits just below the battlements of Bolsover Castle. Designed and built by Maverick Skateparks, the park was completed in July 2024 and had its official opening in May 2025. It followed more than two decades of local campaigning for a permanent wheeled sports facility. The large layout blends street obstacles with smooth transitions for a creative, flowing ride. Features include a bowl, quarter pipes, a roll-in, hips, a volcano, a spine, ledges, hubbas, a box, and rails. That range makes it welcoming for beginners while giving seasoned riders plenty to work with. It draws skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter riders, and it was busy from the day it opened. The park is open around the clock in an open, rural setting with countryside views. Coaching support comes from the long-running Extreme Wheels Roadshow, and there's a children's playground within the wider park.
