About Harrow Skatepark
Harrow Skatepark, originally named Solid Surf, is a free outdoor concrete park next to Byron Park and Harrow Leisure Centre in Wealdstone, northwest London. It's run by the London Borough of Harrow. It opened on 15 July 1978 and is one of only two 1970s shotcrete skateparks still operating in the UK. Designed by Adrian Rolt and G-Force, it's regarded as one of the country's most historic skate sites. The layout is built around a keyhole pool, a deepening snake run, and four interlinked mini-bowls known as the moguls. A concrete half-pipe, a street section with a bank, and a wooden quarter were added over the years. Its rugged old shotcrete rewards transition skaters and draws skateboarders, BMX riders, and roller skaters alike. American legends including Tony Alva turned up for the opening, and it later became the training ground for the local "H-Boyz." The park is free and open daily from 9am until dusk, reached through Byron Recreation Ground. It sits beside the leisure centre with parking, playing fields, and open parkland around it.
