About Graystone Action Sports

Graystone Action Sports is a paid indoor action sports centre at 47 Brunel Avenue in Salford, just outside Manchester city centre. It opened in December 2018 and is billed as the UK's first action sports centre of its kind. It was founded by Ben Livingstone, Kevin Gray, and David McCabe, who took inspiration from Camp Woodward in the US. The skatepark was built by 414 Skateparks and centres on a street plaza, a huge wooden bowl, and a double mini ramp with a spin. The plaza packs in a stairset and handrail, gaps, wall rides, flat-downs, and quarters with pool-style coping. Beyond the main park, there's a beginners' section, a bouldering wall, a freestyle gym with sprung floor, and parkour, giving riders room to build up safely. Its standout feature is a big-air drop-in into a foam pit and a resi landing ramp, a UK first that lets not only skaters, BMX, and scooter riders but also skiers and snowboarders air into foam. Paired with super trampolines, it's designed so tricks can progress from trampoline to foam to resi. The centre has hosted Red Bull events and Olympic qualifiers, and it's a genuine destination for all levels. On-site there's a licensed restaurant and cocktail bar called The View overlooking the park, plus a SkateHut skate shop.
