About Folkestone Gardens
Folkestone Gardens Skatepark is a free, outdoor concrete park tucked into Folkestone Gardens in Deptford, southeast London. It's run by Lewisham Council. It opened in February 2016, built by Freestyle Skateparks to a DIY-influenced design. It replaced an older metal quarter pipe and driveway that had stood on the site since the mid-2000s. The plaza-style layout leans heavily on transition, with a bowled section at one end and quarter pipes and spines throughout. Street features and a rail down a set of stairs sit at the other end. That mix makes it rewarding for both transition and street riders, and a popular spot for lessons. Graffiti covers the ramps, giving it a raw local character. It sits in a small park shaped by its wartime and railway history, with a cafรฉ right beside the skatepark. Parking and several rail and DLR stations are close by.
