About F51

F51 is a paid indoor urban sports venue on Tontine Street in Folkestone's Creative Quarter, in Kent. It's billed as the world's first purpose-built multi-storey skatepark, and it opened to the public on 4 April 2022. The building was designed by Hollaway Studio, and the roughly £17 million project was commissioned and funded by the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust. It rose from a former bingo hall that was once slated to become a car park, and it's now run by the Sports Trust charity. Its three stacked skate floors each offer something different. The bowl floor holds the world's first suspended concrete bowls, built by Maverick Skateparks, with pool coping, tiles, and vert and over-vert extensions. Above that sit two timber floors built by Cambian Action Sports. The flow floor packs in volcanoes, waterfalls, hips, and skateable pillars, while the street floor runs stair sets, ledges, and handrails across roughly 700 square metres. Beyond skating, F51 also houses a 15-metre climbing wall billed as the tallest in South East England, a bouldering area, a boxing club, and a ground-floor café. Sessions, coaching, clubs, and gear hire are available for all levels, and it welcomes skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooters.
