About Skatepark Glarus
Skatepark Glarus is a concrete park in the tiny capital of Glarus canton, surrounded by dramatic alpine peaks. Built in 2015, the park features a bowl, ledges, rails, and quarter pipes. Glarus is one of Switzerland's smallest cantonal capitals, sitting in a narrow valley with mountains rising steeply on both sides. The canton still practices the Landsgemeinde, the ancient open-air democratic assembly where citizens vote by raising their hands. The Glärnisch and Vorderglärnisch peaks dominate the skyline. After skating you can hike up to the Klöntalersee, one of the most beautiful mountain lakes.
