About Soul Temple
Soul Temple is a surf school and community hub on the Weligama Bypass Road that features the only skateboarding ramp in the Weligama area - a mellow wooden mini ramp and half pipe perfect for when the waves are flat. What started as Soul Cafe in 2016 evolved into Soul Temple with the launch of its ISA-certified surf school in 2019, with the skate ramp added around 2020 to give surfers and skaters an alternative activity during flat spells. The wooden ramp offers a smooth, forgiving surface ideal for practicing transitions and building confidence. The facility also includes a coffee shop, yoga space, surf shop, and showers, functioning as a community meeting point where local and international surfers, skaters, and travelers connect. Soul Temple has since expanded with a boutique hotel and surf store in nearby Ahangama, but the Weligama location remains a go-to hangout for the south coast surf and skate crowd.
