About Vrhnika Skatepark
Vrhnika's skatepark serves this Ljubljana-area town at the source of the Ljubljanica river - the river emerges fully formed from a karst spring, having traveled underground through the limestone for kilometers. The concrete park features ledges, banks, quarter pipes, manual pads, and flat bars. Vrhnika is the birthplace of Ivan Cankar, Slovenia's greatest writer, whose house is now a museum. The nearby Ljubljana Marshes, a UNESCO-listed prehistoric pile-dwelling site, reveal 5,000 years of human habitation including the world's oldest wooden wheel. The park draws riders from the southwestern Ljubljana area. The food is Notranjska - jota, žlikrofi, and Vipava valley wines nearby.
