Novo Mesto's Loka skatepark serves the 'New Town' of Dolenjska - Slovenia's wine-growing southeastern region where the Krka river makes a dramatic loop around the old town, creating one of Slovenia's most photogenic urban panoramas. The concrete park features ledges, banks, quarter pipes, manual pads, and flat bars. Novo Mesto's archaeological heritage includes remarkable Hallstatt-era situlae (bronze vessels) found in nearby Iron Age burial mounds. The surrounding Dolenjska hills produce cvček, a distinctive light red wine. The park draws riders from the Dolenjska region. The food is southeastern Slovenian - belokranjska pogača flatbread, potica, and the wine-country cuisine of the Krka valley.
