About Kranj Skatepark
Kranj's skatepark serves Slovenia's fourth-largest city, dramatically perched on a cliff above the confluence of the Sava and Kokra rivers with the Julian Alps rising behind. The concrete park features ledges, banks, quarter pipes, manual pads, and flat bars. Kranj's old town, with France Prešeren's house-museum (Slovenia's greatest poet, whose poem became the national anthem), sits on the promontory above the gorge. The city is the traditional capital of the Gorenjska region. The park draws riders from Upper Carniola. The food is Alpine Slovenian - kranjska klobasa (Carniolan sausage, a protected designation), štruklji, and the mountain dairy cuisine of the Julian Alps foothills.
