Žilina's skatepark near the Žilina Dam serves this northwestern Slovak city at the confluence of the Váh and Rajčianka rivers - a major industrial and cultural center beneath the Malá Fatra mountains. The concrete park features ledges, banks, quarter pipes, manual pads, and flat bars. Žilina's medieval center with its Mariánske námestie (square of arcaded houses) is one of Slovakia's finest. The nearby Strečno Castle ruins dramatically perch above the Váh gorge. The park draws riders from northwestern Slovakia.
