Snina's skatepark serves this remote northeastern Slovak town at the foot of the Vihorlat Mountains - the surrounding primeval beech forests are a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Poloniny National Park nearby is one of Europe's last true wilderness areas. The concrete park features ledges, banks, quarter pipes, manual pads, and flat bars. Snina is one of Slovakia's most rural and least-visited regions, with dark skies perfect for stargazing. The park draws riders from the far-eastern Slovak communities. The food is eastern Slovak-Rusyn - pirohy, kapustnica, mačanka (pork in sour cream), and the wild mushroom dishes of the forest-covered mountains.
