About Volgograd (Victory)
Volgograd's Victory Park skatepark sits in the hero city formerly known as Stalingrad - site of the most decisive and devastating battle of World War II, where over two million casualties were suffered. The concrete park features ledges, banks, quarter pipes, manual pads, and flat bars. The Motherland Calls statue on Mamayev Kurgan, at 85 meters one of the tallest statues in the world, dominates the skyline. The city stretches 80 km along the Volga river in a narrow ribbon. The park draws riders from the lower Volga region. The food is southern Russian - borscht, river fish from the Volga, watermelons from the surrounding steppe, and the hearty cooking of the Don-Volga region.
