About Petrozavodsk Skate
Petrozavodsk's skatepark on the embankment serves the capital of Karelia, sitting on the shore of Lake Onega - the second-largest lake in Europe. The concrete park features ledges, banks, quarter pipes, manual pads, and flat bars. Peter the Great founded the city in 1703 as an arms factory (hence 'Peter's factory'). Lake Onega holds Kizhi Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site with its astonishing wooden churches built without a single nail. The Karelian landscape of lakes, forests, and granite is hauntingly beautiful. The park draws riders from Russia's northwest.
