About Perm City Skatepark
Perm's city skatepark on the Esplanade serves this Ural city that was the eastern terminus of the Gulag system - the 'Perm-36' camp is now a memorial museum, one of the few preserved Gulag sites. The concrete park features ledges, banks, quarter pipes, manual pads, and rails. Perm has reinvented itself as a cultural capital, with the PERMM contemporary art museum and annual festivals transforming the city's image. The Kama river, one of the Volga's great tributaries, flows past. The park draws riders from the western Urals. The food is Ural cuisine - pelmeni (which some claim were invented here), posikunchiki meat pies, and Kama river fish.
