About Orel Skatepark
Orel's skatepark serves the literary capital of central Russia - Turgenev, Leskov, Bunin, and Andreyev all hailed from this Oka river city, and the literary museums here are exceptional. The concrete park features ledges, banks, quarter pipes, manual pads, and flat bars. Orel (meaning 'eagle') was founded as a fortress in 1566 and became a center of Russia's rural gentry culture that produced so much great literature. The city was heavily destroyed in WWII and rebuilt in Soviet style. The park draws riders from the Orel Oblast. The food is central Russian country cooking - buckwheat, river fish, mushrooms, and the farm produce of the Oka river basin.
