About Rjukan Skatepark
Rjukan Skatepark is on Sam Eydes gate in this dramatic industrial town wedged into the narrow Vestfjorddalen valley beneath the Gaustatoppen mountain. The park has ledges, flat bars, banks, and a quarterpipe. Rjukan is famous for the WWII heavy water sabotage - one of the most daring commando raids in history - and the town is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its pioneering industrial heritage. The valley is so narrow that the town gets no direct sunlight in winter, prompting the installation of giant mirrors on the mountainside to reflect sun into the town square. Gaustatoppen offers panoramic views across southern Norway.
