About Høyanger Skatepark
Høyanger Skatepark is on Storgata in Høyanger, an industrial town on the Sognefjord built around the Hydro aluminum smelter. The park has ledges, flat bars, banks, and a quarterpipe. Høyanger was one of Norway's first planned industrial communities, built in the 1910s-1920s to house smelter workers, and the functionalist architecture reflects this era. The town sits in a narrow valley with mountains rising steeply on both sides and the fjord at its doorstep. There are basic shops and a few restaurants. Despite its industrial character, the natural setting is dramatic, and the surrounding mountains offer excellent hiking.
