About Giske Skatepark
Giske Skatepark is at Valderhaugstranda on the island of Valderøya in Giske municipality, connected to Ålesund by undersea tunnel. The park has ledges, flat bars, banks, and a quarterpipe. The Giske islands have deep Viking history - the chieftain clan from Giske was among the most powerful in medieval Norway, and the marble Giske Church from around 1150 is one of the oldest in the region. The islands have beautiful beaches and a windswept coastal atmosphere. There are basic services on Valderøya, and Ålesund is about 20 minutes through the tunnel. A historically rich island park.
