About Frøya Skatepark
Frøya Skatepark is at Sistranda on the island of Frøya, further out into the Norwegian Sea beyond Hitra. The park has ledges, flat bars, banks, and a quarterpipe. Frøya is an exposed oceanic island community where the fishing and aquaculture industries dominate - Salmar, one of Norway's biggest salmon farming companies, is headquartered here. The weather is wild, with Atlantic storms battering the coast in winter, but summer brings midnight sun and calm seas. The island has a rugged beauty with seabird colonies and coastal hiking. Limited services, but the community is tight-knit and self-sufficient. One of Norway's most remote skateparks.
