About Årdalstangen Skatepark
Årdalstangen Skatepark is on Tangevegen in Årdalstangen at the inner end of the Årdalsfjord, a branch of the Sognefjord. The park has ledges, flat bars, banks, and a quarterpipe. Årdal municipality is dominated by the Hydro aluminum smelter - one of the world's largest - and the industrial heritage contrasts dramatically with the surrounding wilderness. The mountains rise steeply around the fjord, and the nearby Vettisfossen waterfall is Norway's highest free-falling waterfall at 275 meters. There are basic shops and a few restaurants, and the road over the Filefjell mountain pass connects to eastern Norway.
