About Andenes Skatepark
Andenes Skatepark is on Hamnegata in Andenes, at the northern tip of Andøya island in the Vesterålen archipelago. The park has ledges, flat bars, banks, and a quarterpipe. Andenes is Norway's whale watching capital - the continental shelf drops off close to shore, bringing sperm whales within reach of tour boats. The town also has the Andøya Space Centre, which launches sounding rockets into the Arctic atmosphere. The midnight sun is visible for months, and the Northern Lights are spectacular in winter. The exposed location means weather is dramatic, but the Arctic light and coastal scenery are unforgettable.
