About Alta Skatepark
Alta Skatepark is located on Skoleveien in this Finnmark town at the head of the Altafjord, home to UNESCO World Heritage rock carvings dating back 7,000 years. The park features ledges, flat bars, banks, and a quarterpipe on a concrete pad. Alta is famous for the Northern Lights - the first scientific observatory for studying the aurora borealis was established here - and for having surprisingly mild summers despite being at 70 degrees north. The Alta River is one of the world's best Atlantic salmon fishing rivers. There are a few restaurants in town, and the Northern Lights Cathedral with its spiraling titanium tower is architecturally striking.
