About Ålesund Skatepark
Ålesund Skatepark sits along Sjømannsveien in this stunning Art Nouveau city rebuilt entirely in the Jugendstil architectural style after a devastating fire in 1904. The park features ledges, flat bars, banks, and a quarterpipe on a smooth concrete surface with views toward the surrounding fjord landscape. Ålesund is the gateway to the Geirangerfjord UNESCO World Heritage site, and the town itself is worth exploring for the incredible architecture alone. Climb the 418 steps to Aksla viewpoint for a panoramic view of the islands and ocean. There are excellent seafood restaurants downtown, and the Brosundet canal area is particularly atmospheric.
