About Cannon's Creek Skatepark
Cannon's Creek Skatepark is located at the intersection of Sievers Grove and Hampshire Street in Porirua, a city north of Wellington. Dating back to 1974, it is believed to be one of the oldest skateparks in New Zealand and among the oldest in the entire Southern Hemisphere, built during the first global wave of skatepark construction. The outdoor park has evolved over the decades but retains its historical significance as a pioneering facility from skating's earliest era. The park features concrete and asphalt surfaces with transition elements and basic street obstacles, serving the diverse Cannon's Creek community for over five decades.
