About Skatepark Zaltbommel
Zaltbommel's skatepark serves this small, beautifully preserved fortress city on the Waal river, where the intact star-shaped ramparts and medieval towers create one of the Netherlands' most picturesque small-city skylines. The concrete park features ledges, banks, manual pads, a quarter pipe, and flat bars. Zaltbommel's center is remarkably intact - the Gasthuispoort, Sint-Maartenskerk, and rows of stepped-gable houses make for excellent exploration on foot or board. The painter Jheronimus Bosch was connected to the town through family ties, and the Bommelerwaards Museum explores local history. The park draws riders from across the Bommelerwaard polder, the island between the Waal and Maas rivers. The fortification walls are perfect for sitting and watching the river traffic while taking a break from skating. This is small-town Dutch heritage at its finest.
