About Skatepark Woldpark
Lelystad's Woldpark skatepark sits in the capital of Flevoland, a city built entirely on land reclaimed from the IJsselmeer in the 1960s. The concrete park features ledges, banks, manual pads, a quarter pipe, and flat bars within the pleasant Woldpark setting. Lelystad is named after Cornelis Lely, the engineer who designed the Zuiderzee Works - the project that created Flevoland by enclosing and draining part of the former inland sea. The Batavialand museum tells this remarkable engineering story, and a full-scale replica of a 17th-century VOC ship sits in the harbor. The park draws riders from across Flevoland, and the wide-open landscape and enormous skies give it a character distinct from mainland Netherlands. Outlet shopping at Bataviastad is nearby if you need new gear. The Oostvaardersplassen nature reserve offers a wild counterpoint to the planned city.
