About Skatepark Vlissingen
Vlissingen's skatepark sits in this naval city at the mouth of the Westerschelde, where massive container ships pass within hundreds of meters of the boulevard on their way to Antwerp. The concrete park features ledges, banks, manual pads, a quarter pipe, and flat bars. Vlissingen - known as Flushing in English - has been a major maritime city since the Golden Age, and the Boulevard with its beach and seafront promenade is one of the most dramatic urban waterfronts in the Netherlands. The sunsets over the North Sea are spectacular, and watching enormous ocean vessels navigate the narrow channel is endlessly fascinating. The park draws riders from across Walcheren island, and the coastal winds can add an extra challenge to your session. Michiel de Ruyter, the legendary Dutch admiral, was born here, and his statue watches over the harbor. Fish shops along the boulevard serve the freshest kibbeling you'll find anywhere.
