Built on the Sluiseiland - Lock Island - in Gouda, this skatepark enjoys a waterside setting near the confluence of several canals in the city famous for its cheese. The concrete park features ledges, banks, manual pads, a quarter pipe, and a flat bar in a layout that makes good use of the island setting. Gouda is far more than just cheese - the stunning Gothic city hall, the remarkable stained glass windows of the Sint-Janskerk, and the candlelit Christmas market are all worth experiencing. The weekly cheese market on the Markt square runs from April to August and is a genuine local tradition, not just a tourist show. The park is walkable from the city center and Gouda station. After skating, try stroopwafels - Gouda claims to be their birthplace - from one of the bakeries in the old town.
