About Skatepark Krimpen
Krimpen aan den IJssel's skatepark sits in this compact South Holland town on the north bank of the IJssel river, just east of Rotterdam. The concrete park features ledges, banks, manual pads, a quarter pipe, and flat bars. Krimpen is known for its Stormpolder industrial area and as the eastern entry point to the Krimpenerwaard, a large polder region of dairy farms and winding roads. The IJssel river frontage gives the town a waterside character, and the Algera flood barrier that spans the river here is one of the smaller Delta Works structures. The park draws riders from Krimpen and provides a local alternative to Rotterdam's larger parks across the river. The Krimpenerwaard polder is excellent for cycling through the kind of flat, green landscape that defines the Dutch lowlands. Metro access from Rotterdam's Kralingse Zoom station is a short bus ride away.
