About Skatepark Gijs van Andelpark
Gorinchem's brand-new rebuilt skatepark in the Gijsbert van Andelpark represents the latest in Dutch skatepark design, reopening in 2025 after a complete reconstruction. The park features pristine concrete with ledges, banks, a bowl, manual pads, and quarter pipes. Gorinchem - locally called Gorkum - is a beautifully fortified city at the confluence of the Linge and Merwede rivers, with nearly complete seventeenth-century ramparts that you can walk along for panoramic views. The Grote Kerk tower and the star-shaped fortification walls are among the best-preserved in the Netherlands. The park draws riders from across the Alblasserwaard and Vijfheerenlanden regions. The 2025 rebuild ensures modern concrete quality and contemporary design standards, making this one of the newest parks in the country. The riverside setting and fortress walls create an atmospheric skating environment.
